Short update on Anthony Rew Trial - Round five.
Jack Price and Ben Dignan (Gas Gas) continued their winning ways whilst Ross Danby (TRRS) and Dan Thorpe (Gas Gas) won their respective classes at round five held in heavy showers in Devon earlier today.
Price has increased his lead to a comfortable fourteen points in the title chase with his closest challenger Toby Martyn (Beta) just failing to take a "local" win by three marks with Dan Peace (Sherco) keeping pressure on the leading dual.
Danby (TRRS) regained the red plate in ACU Trial 2 with a four mark victory from Sam Connor (Beta) and Tom Minta (Sherco) whilst the leader coming into the event, Richard Sadler (Gas Gas) had to settle for fourth.
Dan Thorpe (Gas Gas) scored his first win of the season in the ACU Trial Expert Class, to keep the pressure on Chris Stay (TRRS) who, despite a final lap for just one mark after shedding twenty one on the opening twelve rocky sections which included eight on time, retains the leaders red plate, with Sam Yeomans (Gas Gas) in third.
Ben Dignan (Gas Gas) continued his successful run in ACU Trial 125, but only eleven marks separated first to third with Brett Harbud (Beta) keeping Adam Harris (Gas Gas) at bay as the series takes a summer break for six weeks.
Our image shows local star Billy Green (Montesa) who kept the large spectator attendance happy with fifth place overall with a stunning final lap for nine marks.
