Profile of the day - Aiden Bowker
Coming from a motorcycling family background it was always likely that nineteen year old Aiden Bowker was going to follow in his father, Neil's footsteps, by becoming an off road all rounder. We caught up with the Bowker's after Neil had just finished competing in the SSDT.
Currently a Business Management Student and living near Guildford, Aiden started riding Trials at the age of five and has come through the ranks, winning both the South East area Novice and Intermediate Championships before making the move to the national circuit and finishing fifth in the ACU "D" Class British Championship and seventh the following year in the "C" Class.
However, Aiden is also a competent Enduro rider and lists seventh in the British Championship Clubman E2 class in his portfolio of results.
Riding for In Motion on a Beta Evo 250 and coming from the South East, Aiden obviously likes mud and banks, but he uses the Hookwood Trials facility for his practise sessions to also sharpen up on rocks.
Unselfishly, he lists his favourite British rider, Dougie Lampkin's win at the British World Trial at Hawkstone Park as his first memorable Trials experience, whilst the exuberance of Takahisa Fujinami puts the Japanese star at the top of his world favourites.
Aiden's aim is to break into points scoring positions in the ACU Trial Expert class which he hopes to achieve when competing in the St David's Trial this weekend.
