Hemingway returns to top step in Trial 125.
With a dazzling performance, Harry Hemingway (Beta) returned to winning ways after his defeat at the hands of Harry Turner (Scorpa) at the previous round, with a display of superb control at Brimham Rocks yesterday. It was his first lap, shedding just a single mark over the twelve unforgiving sections which set the newly crowned European Champion up for the win, despite Turner keeping the pressure on throughout the three lap event. Younger brother, George Hemingway (Beta) maintained his run of third place finishes.
Recoding twenty nine cleans over the three lap event, Harry's only mistake was mid way round the second lap with a failure on the rocks of the fifth section which boosted his second tour total to eight, whilst Turner posted a lap of seven, with no failures. Young Hemingway ensured his place on the top of the podium, shedding just two marks on lap three when some of the sections were at their worst. His final total of eleven was ten better than Turner who was the only other rider to post single figure scores.
Jamie Galloway (TRRS) set himself up for fourth position with an opening lap of just thirteen, but followed with two laps of twenty one, which put him nine marks ahead of Harry Bowyer (GasGas) who secured a very safe fifth place finish.
Alfie Lampkin (Vertigo) stayed consistent in his "home" round to finish a lonely sixth, but the battle for seventh raged all day with only five marks separating Joe Snelling (Beta), Jay Pyper (Beta) and Owen Chestnut (Scorpa). Charlie Cripps (Beta) rounded off the top ten.
The next round takes place in the foothills of Snowdonia on the 25th September.
