SCORPA EDGE LEAD IN MANUFACTURERS CHAMPIONSHIP.
By virtue of three strong point scoring rides in all three counting classes, Scorpa have edged out a lead over Sherco following the fifth round which took place last weekend. Whilst TRRS took wins in both the Trial GB and Trial 2 Classes, they have a void in the Trial Expert category without a rider able to break into the top fifteen.
A second place in Trial 2 by Andy Chilton, backed up by Billy Green (Trial GB) and Chris Alford (Expert) Scorpa bagged forty seven points, which was six more than Sherco who relied on Dan Peace (Trial GB) and James Fry (Trial 2) to back up yet another class win by Tom Affleck (Trial Expert).
TRRS are still in contention in third and undoubtedly a point scoring Trial Expert rider would enhance their chances tremendously. The other marques do not have the benefit of a Trial GB class rider. Beta currently sit in fourth, nearly fifty points being TRRS, whilst Vertigo are gradually edging closer as each round passes. GasGas missed the services of Lloyd Price at Scarborough who was suffering from a bug, so only Jack Dance added to their points tally, whilst Montesa Honda had the benefit of Sam Haslam returning after missing the previous round, whilst Callum Williamson added to their tally in the Expert category for the first time.
The battle resumes in two weeks time at Brimham Rocks, near Harrogate.
