First round entries oversubscribed.
Emphasizing the fact that the Hookwood Trials Centre is extremely popular, the organising Club have closed the entries for the first round which will take place on the 23rd May, having already reached the maximum eighty five allowed.
Nearly two thirds of the entry are made up of quality Experts who want to test their skills on a total of thirty six sections in the three lap event on the compact course, which has traditionally started the series in recent years.
It is also pleasing to see that the numbers in both the ACU Trial 2 and Trial 125 classes have increased with eighteen T2 riders forming a class which is likely to be the most competitive since it's inception a few years ago. Equally pleasing is that eight invited young riders in the important ACU Trial 125 class are also taking part and most of them are expected to contest the full nine round series.
It has been well established that the main ACU Trial GB class will feature just five riders this year, led by current Champion Iwan Roberts who will be strongly challenged by four professional riders, Dan Peace, Toby Martyn, Jack Peace and Billy Green who will be contesting the World Trial GP series which starts in the summer.
We will examine potential podium places separately in each class over the next few weeks.
