Final round to decide titles.
The shortened 2020 season draws to a close on Saturday with the final round taking place at Dudwood Farm, near Matlock. The full sixty entries will congregate on the venue for the 9.30am start where two of the four classes are still hotly contested. The ACU Trial 2 and ACU Trial Expert classes are very close with a handful of points covering the top four riders, whilst the ACU Trial GB and Trial 125 classes are just about decided.
Ross Danby (TRRS) currently heads the Trial 2 standings, but only by two points from on form Andy Chilton (Scorpa) who collected 37 points from his recent visit to Devon, two weeks ago. By virtue of netting three points for setting best laps at the previous two rounds, Dan Thorpe (Gas Gas) carries exactly that amount of points advantage into this weekend from Sam Yeomans (Vertigo).
The Trial itself is really in two halves. The first seven sections centre around a slow running stream with tree root bankings and rocks for good measure. Then the final five sections are in a pine forest with jumbles of localised rocks to test the riders skills to the limit.
Series Manager, Brian Higgins, " This will not be the hardest championship Trial we have seen, but I am confident there will be enough to produce a clear result in all classes. Concentration will be key on Saturday as minor mistakes could be costly.
