Roberts, Chilton, Dance, Thorpe take wins
In the wake of storm Alex, the fifty plus starters at round two in Devon had a hard day battling through the three laps of twelve sections which were hounded by wind and rain on the bleak moorland course today.
In a tough event, marks were high with only a handful of marks separating the top six in all classes, except ACU Trial GB where Iwan Roberts (TRRS) was the sole contender and takes over the series lead despite missing the opening round in March.
Chilton's win puts him on top of the Trial 2 standings after first round winner, Sam Connor (Beta) finished fifth, but only seven marks adrift. Tom Minta (Scorpa) made it a double for the brand by virtue of a tie decider with Richard Sadler (Gas Gas).
With a class win and a best lap bonus point Dan Thorpe (Gas Gas) hoisted himself right into the Trial Expert championship contention, heading into round three tomorrow just one point behind Sam Yeomans (Vertigo) who finished second. Tom Affleck (Sherco) took the lower podium spot after losing out on a tie break with the red plate holder.
Jack Dance kept up his leading position with a second win in the ACU Trial 2 Class with Harry Hemingway (Beta) and Harry Turner (Gas Gas) staying in contention.

The organisers would like to thank all riders and officials for helping to make the venue a Covid safe site.
Round three takes place tomorrow (4th) before a two week break to the final event of the 2020 series.
