Storm Alex fails to disrupt
Despite it's best efforts Storm Alex failed to deter members of the Torridge Club when they arrived on site this morning ahead of round two of the series. Four of the planned first day sections were completely flooded and the Clerk of the Course, John Luckett quickly improvised by "borrowing" some of the second day sections and hastily setting out a couple of new ones.
The Club are working closely with the ACU team to ensure the event goes as smoothly as possible in extreme conditions.
Series Manager Brian Higgins enlarged, " The Trials takes place in a deep valley which forms tributaries of the River Tavy and the amount of water was amazing as our picture shows, The plan is to use the twelve sections which are not flooded for Saturday and then to hopefully introduce some of the original ones back for round three on Sunday.
Further details will appear here on Saturday evening.
