Danby and Stay clinch titles
Whilst Ross Danby (ACU Trial 2 TRRS) and Chris Stay (ACU Trial Expert TRRS) clinched their respective titles, Jack Peace (Sherco) won his first ACU Trial GB event of the year with a superb performance at round nine in Scotland today. Ben Dignan (Gas Gas) continued his winning ways in the ACU Trial 125 class after clinching the title at the previous round on Saturday.
Danby made it difficult for himself trailing in fifth position for most of the day, when he could only afford a sixth place finish, but a final lap of a mere one mark penalty ensured the title remained in his hands. On the day it was first round winner, Sam Connor who emerged as victor with James Fry (Sherco) posting his best result of the season to finish second after leading on the opening lap. Title contender Richard Sadler (Gas Gas) finished third.
Although his nearest rival Dan Thorpe (Gas Gas) piled on the pressure and took wth Expert Class win, second place was more than enough to secure the title for Stay, whilst Sam Yeomans (Gas Gas) made another visit to the podium in third.
Peace was devastating on the large rock steps around the Totherich Quarry to take a maiden win of the season from newly crowned ACU Trial GB Champion, Jack Price (Gas Gas), whilst Saturday's winner Toby Martyn (Beta) finished third.
Full individual class reports will be published here tomorrow.
