Friday update at Round eight
After some wet weather yesterday we find the course at Dunlop in drier conditions on Friday morning as the organising team put the final touches to the twelve section course. Actually, that should read seventeen sections as Clerk of the Course Sandy Mack, assisted by Paul Battensby, have laid out a total of seventeen sections which will be used over the weekend.
Saturday;s route will be a clockwise circle, mainly around the steep edges of the quarry and using some subtle changes in rock formation which took place last weekend. Of course, the highlight of the course is the famous waterfall section, which once again will be number twelve and has had an extra rock added at the top for the ACU Trial GB route.
For Saturday - round eight, the ACU Trial 2 course will consist of five ACU Trial GB sections, which includes the opener in "the gulley". Section three will be ridden by all classes on the same route. Five new sections will be added to Sunday's course.
The Bob McGregor Academy will be signposted from the main access roads around Dunlop and the action starts at 9.30am on Saturday morning.
