Three New Winners at Troutbeck
Whilst Jack Price (Gas Gas) and Ben Dignan (Gas Gas) extended their lead in the ACU Trial GB and ACU Trial 125 classes, three new winners emerged at round six, which was held in bright sunshine high above Lake Windermere today.
Led by Dan, the Peace brothers scored a one two to edge Price down to third in the ACU Trial GB Class after three tense laps of thirty six sections. However, with Price's nearest title challenger, Toby Martyn (Beta) only finishing fourth, Price has increased his Championship lead to sixteen points.
By virtue of a totally clean final lap, Tom Minta (Scorpa) snatched the win in the ACU Trial 2 class after initial leader, Richard Sadler (Gas Gas), failed to capitalise on a stunning opening lap with just one mark lost. Making his first appearance on the podium in this class, James Fry (Sherco) led until the very final section where an increasingly slippery rock slab literally stopped him in his tracks and he was disappointed to slip to third.
Recording his first win, Sam Yeomans (Gas Gas) decimated the strong ACU Trial Expert class with a ten mark advantage over Dan Thorpe (Gas Gas) who moves to within one point of the series lead. Gwynedd Jones (Beta) was delighted with the lower step on the podium as the championship moves across the Pennines to Yorkshire in seven days time.
