With heavy rain falling in the Windermere district in the last two days a beck which was just a trickle a few days ago has now risen dramatically as our picture of the opening section for Sunday's event shows. However, the water level rises and therefore falls very quickly and with the minimum of rainfall forecast later in the week it is expected that it will return to it's calm state by 9.30am on Sunday morning.
Several of the earlier sections feature rocky streams before the near fifty competitors reach higher ground and then make the trek across the fells before returning to some rock outcrop sections to finish off the twelve section lap, which has to be covered three times by all of the classes.
Troutbeck is easily reached from the M6 motorway at Kendal and this Westmorland MCC promoted event is well worth a visit as the championship contenders in all classes tackle some traditional stream sections - with water - for the first time in the series this year.
The action starts at 9.30am with the ACU Trial GB riders starting their five and a half hour limited ride at approx. 10.10am
