Thorpe turns on the pressure in ACU Trial Experts.
Dan Thorpe (Gas Gas) who has been the only rider in the class to be on the podium at all five rounds to date, made it to the top step at the Anthony Rew Trial, held in Devon on Sunday. Thorpe's win now puts him just five points behind class leader, Chris Stay (TRRS) who, despite losing eight marks on time, put in a stunning single mark last lap to snatch second at the end of the tough day. Sam Yeomans (Gas Gas) continued his strong run with a solid third place which also maintains his third place as the series reaches the half way point.
In an event which was much tougher than intended for this class, partly due to rain for most of the day and the long physical sections, Gwynedd Jones (Beta) slipped to fourth with a poor - by his standards - final lap, but stayed ahead of Emma Bristow (Sherco) whilst one time red plate holder, Lloyd Price (TRRS) slotted into sixth. Ben Morphett (Montesa) suffered a disastrous twenty four time penalties on his way to seventh place. Making his first outing this year, Connor Atkinson (Sherco) finished eighth, whilst Brad Bullock (Beta) and Aldis Blacker (Gas Gas) completed the top ten.
Series Manager, Brian Higgins has acknowledged that the makeup of the sections were too hard and will work with future organisers to make the remaining rounds more suitable for the bulk of the entry in this class.

The series now takes a six week summer break and resumes with the Westmorland Lakes Trial on the 28th July.
